Spending time with God

Intimacy with the spirit is a function of a consistent fellowship- unknown.

So many people desire to know God and hear from him but they do not see this happening, they feel that there is just this emptiness and void that needs to be filled. Knowing God and being intimate with him does not just happen by accident, it is as a result of consistent fellowship and communion with Him that is built on regular and intentional communication.
In human relations, communication has been regarded as a very vital factor that cannot be taken for granted. Friendships, relationships, marriages, business partnerships and other human relationships are built on how well the parties involved communicate. Now, imagine you just met a new friend; you exchange contacts and then you refuse to call him and whenever he calls, you do not pick his calls. However, you go all round professing that he is your friend; please if I may ask, how did you build that friendship? Here, God is the new  friend; you met him but refused to communicate with him.
It is easy to say we love God, that Jesus is our saviour, that Jehovah is our father, but then let me ask, how was that relationship built?
God wants us to fellowship with him, He wants us to spend time with him and place our eyes on Him, He wants us to have an intimate relationship with Him, He wants us to have a constant chat with Him.
Our yearning for God should be as described in Psalms 42:1:
"As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God".

When the hart is thirsty for water, there is this craving and earnest yearning that comes into play, this should also be the way we crave after God, He is our source of life and living just as the water is life to the hart and even as it is important to us as humans.
I have come to discover that the nearer you are to God, the more you love Him, the more you are willing to obey him, the more you are willing to BURN for Him, the more willing you are for Him to take over your life.

Days ago, my emotions got muddled up and before I knew it, I started crying and then, I knew I needed to speak with God. That is one relationship in my life that had kept me on track, feeling weary, I know I have a place of solace to go to, that is one friendship in my life that i do not take for granted. Yes, He does want to be our confidant and place of rest.
Spending time with God is something every believer should crave. It is one thing to be saved, it is another thing to know and recognize your saviour, don't let God be a familiar stranger to you!

Invest quality time in fellowshipping with Him, let Him be the first thing that occupies your mind even before you hit stop on your morning alarm, let Him be the one your world revolves around, let His voice be that one you crave to hear at all times, let craving God become your lifestyle.
Professing your love for God is not enough, anyone can do that. It is the time you spend in the presence of the Lord that shows how much you love Him...Be a Godcraver.
