IF HE DID IT BEFORE
I thought I would be broken if I got the news I just got, but funny enough, I am not. I have been thanking God, praising Him for what happened, singing songs to glorify Him. A particular song has been on replay ever since I heard the news "Thank you for being God" by Travis Greene. I cried when I heard but I am not sad neither am I depressed, I see this as one of those fire I must walk through to be tested in order to come out purified, I see God using this to make me become stronger, I see greater testimonies on the way, I see the situation as God's way of making my future testimony sweeter. I see the story as one that would help me reach out to other people in the future who may be in the same situation. I see God turning the situation for my good; my friend sent a voice note about God working everything for my good. I don't see the failure, I see a stepping stone to success, I see God saying: you are coming out stronger and better.
God is indeed good, as I paused writing this, I felt bad again and then I was inspired to read Psalms 22, God has been emphasizing the fifth verse lately but this time I read the whole chapter. I saw trials but i also saw assurance of victory, hope, faith, trust; God gave me a sort of confidence and joy I can't explain. Yes, I just said joy, I am not sad, I am full of joy, I feel light, I feel peace. He also told me to play a particular song on my phone by Tye Tribett "If he did it before".
I played the song and some words caught my ears; so I browsed out the lyrics of the song. And some of the words I saw were powerful and encouraging:
Greater is in me, the fight ain't fair cause I've already won
And yes I may fall, may get knocked down to the ground
I know I'll rise up, this is how I'm so sure
If he did it before, he'd do it again
Same God right now, same God back then
If he did it before, he'd do it again, yeah
Same God right now, same God back then
Please be, encouraged, this is not the first storm you've been through
You've been through worse, you didn't come this far just to lose
He knows your needs, so take no thoughts on what you lost
God will restore, and this is how I'm sure
If he did it before, he can do it again
Same God right now, same God back then.
"You've been through worse, you didn't come this far just to lose"
This particular line is so assuring me that God has not brought me this far to lose or give up, I have gone through worse and for Him to have taken me through those, he is surely taking me above tears and sorrows.
My friends have been giving me words of encouragement, even my brother has encouraged my faith by singing the song "I have no other God but you" in fact am so glad I am surrounded by people like that.
He knows your needs, so take no thoughts on what you lost, God will restore.
I know he will restore what I have lost, I am sure he knows what I need, yeah He does. And that is why am so sure that if He did it before, He would do it again. This is my testimony, I have God and I am not afraid because I've already won.
