Let go, beloved

Hey, God Cravers, how has the year been for you? How are you experiencing the Lord this new year?

Late last year, I was in a meeting, and the person ministering talked about how much the Lord is set to do in the new year, we were asked to prepare ourselves for God's outpouring in the new year and be greatly expectant.
Oh! I did not know that message was for me until recently. Now, I don't know who this message is meant for but I know someone needs to read this.
"Don't let bitterness, anger and hate take roots in your life, you may spend your entire life shaking it off "

Scripture says "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly" John 10:10.
At times, we may feel cheated, not cared for or rejected, however, that is not a reason for us to hold on to hatred and resentment, it is not a reason to let the devil steal your peace of mind. See, one thing that the Lord has taught me in this new year is that, no matter what happens to you, there is a lesson to be learnt there in. Holding on to anger when we are supposed to forgive would be giving the devil an inch in our lives and you know what he would do; he would take a mile. If you allow bitterness from a past event hold you down and prevent you from forgiving, it may cost you more than you would ever realise.

1 Peter 5:8  Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.

As believers, we need to be vigilant and watchful of the traps of the evil one, he could throw his darts through anger, hatred, grudges and resentment. However, the plans of God for us is not to hold on to these energy sapping and negative emotions.
The mood of Heaven is that of joy and peace and this is also part of God's plans for our lives. But then, how do you tap into this joy when you refuse to let go of past grudges, forgive, bless or reconcile.
The truth is this; by human power, it is impossible, hence, there is an urgent need to submit our emotions and desires to the Lord.

Contemporary English Version (US Version) Romans 8:5-8
People who are ruled by their desires think only of themselves. Everyone who is ruled by the Holy Spirit thinks about spiritual things. If our minds are ruled by our desires, we will die. But if our minds are ruled by the Spirit, we will have life and peace. Our desires fight against God, because they do not and cannot obey God's laws. If we follow our desires, we cannot please God.

There is a need to submit our desires to the Lord, for in it, we find life and peace.
As we begin this year, please, always make a conscious effort to forgive in order to get God's best for you.

1 Peter 5:7  Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Shalom!!!
